Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting is a celebration of the accomplishments on behalf of the Greater Spokane Valley business community. The Chamber honors outstanding volunteer leadership and introduces a new slate of officers and board members for the upcoming year.

Keynote Speaker: John Tomkowiak, M.D., Dean of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Washington State University-Spokane.

In this keynote presentation, 'Envisioning the Future of Health Care,' John Tomkowiak, M.D. will describe the up-and-coming trends in health care and discuss the impact those trends have on the research, education and clinical missions of a new medical school.
 
About our Speaker:
As the Founding Dean of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University in Spokane, John Tomkowiak, M.D. is instrumental in creating a college that will bring practical healthcare solutions to all residents of the state. Dr. Tomkowiak has extensive expertise in the areas of medical education, accreditation and transformational leadership.

He most recently served as Dean of the Chicago Medical School, the President of the Rosalind Franklin University Health System and the Executive Vice President for Clinical Affairs for Rosalind Franklin University. He started his academic career at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Dr. Tomkowiak received his bachelor’s from the University of Illinois and completed his MD and residency training at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is Professor of Psychiatry and Board Certified in General Psychiatry. He received a Master’s of Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga.
