Mail Call, an exciting new exhibit from the Smithsonian, is coming to the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum on May 9th! Mail Call explores not only the transition of technology from messengers on foot to instant email communication but also the emotional value a letter from home held for our troops overseas. We are so excited for this exhibit that we are also conducting a complementary project called the Veteran's History Project in which we are asking members of the community to donate letters and other forms of communication from family members and friends who have served for our country. We will help preserve their stories through digitization of the letters and provide an outlet in which their experiences can be shared.
