The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires employers to make reasonable accommodations available to qualified individuals with disabilities with respect to employment. Both laws require employers to address employees on a case-by-case basis using an “interactive process.” As part of this process, it may become necessary to use a medical examination, either for job applicants or for current employees in need of accommodation.
