CarbonQuest is a distributed carbon capture company leveraging cutting-edge technology to help buildings, campuses, and industrial facilities reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Its solution captures CO2 before it is released into the atmosphere, preventing emissions at their point of departure. The modular, containerized carbon capture technology can work with gas-fired heating and power systems, including combined heat and power (CHP) or fuel cells, used by any small- and medium-scale carbon emitters. In the food and beverage space, clients want to have security of CO2 supply and reduce transportation costs, and choose to capture onsite CO2, purify it to ISBT beverage grade standard, and re-use it in its processes.
CarbonQuest provides an end-to-end solution for the disposal of CO2. That can mean a number of utilization options from selling the recycled product into the high-value markets to mineralizing the CO2 into rock - both excellent options in the Pacific Northwest (PNW).
CarbonQuest’s approach is ideal for emitters across the PNW. While the region marches towards electrification, many sectors may not be able to electrify quickly or cost-effectively. The company works with several customers throughout the region and recently announced its first CO2 capture and reuse project in Washington state. The company is also installing a demonstration carbon capture solution on Eastern Washington University’s campus, reducing carbon emissions from the university’s natural gas-powered steam heating system.
