Spokane, WA | November 20, 2025 – Spokane County Library District (SCLD) announces the December lineup of library events and programs, filled with holiday joy, crafts, activities, games, and more for all ages, adults, teens, kids and families, as well as early learners.
For All Ages
For Adults
SCLD’s online programs in December include a cooking class and an author talk. While at home, explore
World Cooking: Ethiopian Food with Chef Hibra Tsegay of Amen Ethiopian Café. All registrants receive the list of ingredients so they can prepare ahead to cook along with the chef. During her online author talk,
Sue Hincenbergs discusses scheming wives and high-stakes hilarity in her novel
The Retirement Plan, in which murder is the name of the game.
For Teens
Gather friends or venture solo to the library for a one-shot adventure or an ongoing campaign with tabletop role-playing games, such as Dungeons & Dragons. From newbies to dragonslayers, all experience levels are welcome at
Teen RPG Club: Arcane Adventures.
For Kids & Families
During
Decoración de piñatas para familias (Piñata Decorating for Families), Spanish-speaking families can discover the origins of the piñata and work together to decorate a piñata for upcoming gatherings. This program is presented entirely in Spanish.
Stop into the library for an
Engineering Challenge and other weekly and monthly
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) programs.
For Early Learners
Young children and their caregivers can enjoy stories and activities to build early literacy skills at our weekly
Play & Learn Storytime programs. Check out
Picture Book Chat to see some of the best new books to read with early learners.
